Don't Be Taken For A Ride!

Updated: Jan 27, 2019

We fully expect you to shop around for the best deal when considering a vintage bus hire company, but cheap is not always best!

You need to ensure that your chosen operator is fully legal...

To carry passengers, the law requires both the company and the driver to be properly licensed. Unfortunately, there are unlicensed bus owners advertising their services in this area at highly discounted prices, so before booking ask to see their O Licence and check that their vehicle is taxed and insured as a PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) and not a historic vehicle.

If they are not fully licensed then their insurance will almost certainly be invalidated. Furthermore, there will be no guarantee that the vehicle will have been checked and maintained to commercial bus safety standards.

Routemaster4Hire are fully licensed and insured for operating buses and carrying passengers. Our Operator number is PG1112309 and this can be verified on the DVSA website. We believe our hire fees are very competitive but unfortunately we cannot compete with unlicensed individuals who's overheads are considerably lower than ours.
